Privacy & HIPAA Policy

At King Psychiatry & Partners, we are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your health information in accordance with federal HIPAA regulations and applicable state laws.

Access to Your Information

1. Your electronic medical record may be accessed by other licensed clinicians within our practice for emergency coverage when your primary provider is unavailable.

2. Limited information may be accessed by trained staff solely for scheduling, billing, or medication refill purposes.

3. No information about you or your care will be released to any individual or organization outside of this office without your written consent or a court order.

Limits to Confidentiality

While we take confidentiality seriously, there are specific situations in which information may be disclosed without your consent:

1. If we believe you or your child is at imminent risk of harm to self or others. If we suspect abuse or neglect of a child, elderly, or vulnerable adult (we are mandated reporters by law).

2. If required by a valid court order.

3. If you initiate a malpractice claim or a billing dispute.

4. If your account remains unpaid, limited information (such as balance due, diagnostic, and procedural codes) may be shared with a collection agency or other responsible party.

Your Rights

1. You may complete a Release of Information (ROI) form to designate individuals who may discuss your care and/or financial matters with our office.

2. Patients age 14 and older have the right to confidential communication with their clinician, in accordance with state law.

Medication Refills

It is your responsibility, as the patient, to notify your provider if you need a refill during your scheduled appointments. Providers reserve the right to refuse medication refills in cases of missed appointments or frequent cancellations, which may also lead to dismissal from the practice. No refills will be called in after hours or on weekends.
